Zachery Ty Bryan has been arrested again for domestic violence, this time in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The Home Improvement star was charged with domestic violence in the second degree, according to a representative for the Myrtle Beach Police Department. He was booked into the county facility and released Friday after paying $10,000.
Police arrived at a home on Monarch Drive on New Year’s Day after receiving a call about a disturbance to find a female victim there. She told them she’d been assaulted by Bryan, according to a report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. She told police that she had been choked and punched in the face, which the report indicates was apparent from swelling on the side of her face.

Officers also spoke with Bryan, who said an argument had erupted over the woman’s drinking when he attempted to take a bottle from her and she began to flail back and forth, the report states. Police determined that he was the primary aggressor in the incident.
The actor, who played the oldest son in the 1990s sitcom, was first arrested for domestic violence in Oregon in 2020, where he faced charges of strangulation and assault.
Bryan was arrested again on July 31, 2023, for felony assault in violation of the Abuse Prevention Act and was released from the Oregon jail six days later. His then-lawyer, John Kolego of Eugene law firm Kolego & Kraushaar, insisted the “presumption of innocence” was “extremely important.”
He pled guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree and cut a deal to avoid jail time in October 2023. Instead of 19 to 20 months of jail time, he received 36 months of supervised probation, seven days in jail and a set of conditions, including no contact with the victim and alcohol and substance abuse treatment.
Earlier that year, Bryan spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the difficult few years he had as he defended himself against fraud allegations.
“I do know when things get in the way of who you’re meant to be, where you’re supposed to go and what God has planned for you,” he told THR in June 2023. “He sometimes challenges you to do some reflecting by looking in the mirror and taking responsibility.”
